Stolen Flyght – Chapter 7
Handing the leash over to the man at the dog daycare and boarding center on the Lee home ship, my heart squeezes. Frogger looks up at me with his big, brown eyes, and I regret all of my decisions as of late.

The weather has changed on Sonoma since I’ve been gone. Harvest time means cooler weather incoming, rain, and leaves changing color.
I’m surprised by Carlos’s room when I arrive. He’s set up several workstations, and datapads occupy the available surfaces.
The Flyght ship we’re taking to Sonoma is, of course, Diamond class because nothing is impossible for Ken with his own company. I reunite with my crew, giving Carlos an embarrassing hug, while Lia giggles at his sincere blush.
Ken’s apartment is peaceful this morning. Birds chirp outside his window, and the bedroom is warm with sunlight.
I never thought I’d be entering the Athens Industries building again. Maybe I expected to be dragged in by my hair kicking and screaming.
Get up, Vivian. Get. Up. I sigh as I sink further into Ken’s bed and pull the covers straight up to my chin.
Hot water sluices over my skin, forming branching rivers that diverge and meander down my body to the stone floor of Ken’s shower. I could stay here forever, just me and an unending supply of clean, piping hot water.
