The Sunday Post is a weekly meme hosted by Kimba @ Caffeinated Book Reviewer. It’s a chance to share news. A post to recap the past week, showcase books and things we have received and share news about what is coming up for the week on our blog.
And once again, my updates this week will mostly be about Lulu Ninja Assassin. Because she's a puppy and TAKING OVER OUR LIVES. Lol
Monday was a rough day. It was Rosh Hashanah, so the kids had off school. We started out nicely but then I took Lulu to get her next round of shots and deworm meds, and they really didn't agree with her. She spent the whole afternoon puking and shaking uncontrollably. She was so sick. We ended up having to take her to the emergency vet in the early evening for steroids and IV fluids. Poor thing. She was much better by bedtime though.
Tuesday it was back to school and Picture Day for both kids. My morning was nuts but the rest of the day was good. I had PT in the morning, and we got the weekly CSA veggies and it was a lot!
Wednesday was National Walk to School Day, so I did that with the youngest kid, and then I went on my own walk. I came home and my husband left to go golfing. I hung out with Lulu most of the day and then took the kids to tennis in the afternoon.
Thursday was my busy day. I had pottery in the morning, then in the afternoon, my husband stayed home with the youngest child who had tutoring and I took the oldest child to the dentist to get a cavity filled. In the evening, I went to the middle school for Back to School Night from 7-9pm. I was beat by the time I got home.
Friday was the publication of BROKEN FLYGHT! I celebrated with a decked-out bagel at home instead of going out for breakfast like I normally do. I had a 9am meeting at the youngest's school that I couldn't miss, so it was the best I could do. I spent the day working as usual, but it was nice to see reviews for BROKEN FLYGHT posted and posts on Facebook about it.
Yesterday, I was at home with Lulu all day while my husband took the kids to Long Island for a family birthday party. She's still not old enough to be crated or left all day long, so I sacrificed and stayed home. We had a good day together! She only had a few accidents inside and I took her outside for lots of walks.
Today, I finally got to sleep in a little, but I've had a headache all day. I've done everything I can to get rid of it short of painkillers. I went on a walk. I fed the headache water, caffeine, and sugar. But I'm still sitting here with it right behind my eyes. We also had a little scare with Lulu today. She stepped on something painful and hurt her front left paw. She was whimpering and in a lot of pain. We held her and rested her most of today, and she seems to be okay now.
In work news, I'm working on Flyght Book 5! Like all books I start, it's slow going in the first 10k words as I figure out how to structure this novel. But I'm writing and I'm moving forward! I'm also halfway through my proofreading of Book 4. I should be done with that by the end of the week! Then I can send it off to my proofreaders and call that one done too. Tonight, I need to identify good quotes from HIGH FLYGHT for teasers and import my words to Scrivener from my Neo. Then I need to finish off my SFR Station tasks for the week.
What else happened this week?
The park is looking pretty right about now!
I'm working on throwing a lot of pottery pieces this year. I'm aiming for quantity and hoping that most of them make it out of the kiln in one piece. I want to test how good I am at producing the same thing over and over consistently. This week I made a new shape (an urn/vase), and then I made three low bowls all the same shape. Hopefully they'll be a nice set when I'm done.
It was National Walk to School Day on Wednesday and everyone in the neighborhood walked together.
We got Lulu her own real bed. She was sleeping on blankets as we trained her where her bed was. Most dogs don't like to soil their own sleeping space, but sometimes it takes a while to figure out where that space is. She gets it now.
This was the day Lulu got really sick. Poor thing. Just looking at this photo makes me sad.
But here she is in better spirits and times when she's actually awake too! Though she's easier to photograph if she's sleeping. Lol.
I hope you all have a great week!
