And we're back to a our regular routine now! This week felt a little anticlimactic after being on vacation, but it was nice to be back and doing our thing. I got exercise most of the days of this week, even throwing in some yoga that I haven't done for a long time. It felt good, even though I was sore the next day!
The best things about this week were definitely, (1) the July sumo tournament started! It's great to see sumo on every day now. I miss it between tournaments. I wish I had more access to watch sumo during the off-months. (2) My youngest child turned 8 on Thursday! She's such a big girl now, and I love her to pieces. She was super excited for her birthday and turning 8. I think she had a really nice day. She went to camp during the day and then we went to the pool in the afternoon. Then we all went out to dinner and had ice cream together.
The other big thing that happened this week was that my husband and I had a pretty awesome date on Friday. We got a babysitter, took the train into the city, had dinner at a fancy Indian restaurant (Junoon), and then went to Madison Square Garden to see Radiohead. Radiohead is one of my Top 5 Bands, and it was a bucket list item to see them in concert. I enjoyed every minute of it! We had great seats and they played lots of my favorite songs. We did the adult thing and went out for a drink after the show then took the train home. I didn't get to bed until 1am! That's pretty late for me now. Lol.
I took the kids to the pool as much as possible this week including all day on Saturday. And amongst all that time, I made great progress on my WIP. This is the new series that I started earlier this year! I made edits and got all caught up with the story, and now I'm writing new material too. I hope to be done with the whole book by the beginning of August.
What else happened this week…
I got some new mugs this week! The tervis cup with the octopus on it is from a store in Charleston, and the New Jersey “You Are Here” mug I bought online. I also got a Japan “You Are Here” mug. I'll get a photo of that this week.
The park is looking pretty with lots of new flowers!
I cleaned out or “pen junk drawer” this week, which was on the to-do list for summer!
Ice cream was had after D's birthday dinner.
We had a view straight into the kitchen at Junoon in NYC for dinner on Friday night.
Radiohead at Madison Square Garden was amazing. I cried several times. Lol.
This month's Bokksu snack box is all citrus. My favorite! I enjoyed this snack cake and some yuzu candies.
And today I did some writing on my new Alphasmart Neo. I love it! The keyboard is so perfect for me.
