I remember writing this scene and how it just came into being so quickly. By this time in the book, Yumi has faced death at least a dozen times already, but this time is worse than all the others. She's beaten. She's tired. But this quote shows how even on the brink, she's still willing to fight. That's something I love about her. She always has the fighting spirit.
