The Results Of My Reader Survey

Back in late April, I sent a readers survey out to my entire newsletter list, asking them to fill it out, so that I could get an idea of what they wanted or needed out of me for the future. This summer I'll be switching over to a new newsletter service and I also wanted to make sure that I bring over the engaged and willing subscribers, plus I wanted to give them the ability to greater control when they get emails from me as well.

I took the survey results and I did a 40 minute Facebook Live video with them. I answered a lot of questions and expanded on some of the most popular answers of the survey. I know the video is long, but it's pretty interesting to see all the results!

People who are new to my list continue to take this survey and I'm sure the results will skew a little bit over time, but this is a good starting point. I may have to do the survey again next year and see the difference!

Anyway, you can see the video now on YouTube and right here on the blog.

If you want me to answer any additional questions, you can put them in the comments below.

  1. I watched your video (had to break it into parts because of length). Very informative for your readers and for writers (I’m both), esp. the info on promotion. You received a lot of info from your readers that will help you focus your writing. I never know when I fill out a survey if anyone really reads the answers. You did. Thanks for sharing.

  2. Nice you also got it up on youtube now. I remember watching it on Facebook shortly after you posted it and I had a lot of fun watching it.

    1. I’m definitely going to do more FB Live videos, I just need to figure out what to do with them. I liked that I could take this one, edit it a little, and put it up on YouTube. That gives me content there I don’t normally have.
