What. A. Week. This week went by with a fury unmatched to anything in a while. On Monday, I went for a walk in the park and ran into some Pokemon Go hunters on the way home. Tuesday was my youngest's birthday. My husband worked from home for the day while I did my usual routine. I dropped the oldest and the birthday girl at camp, went to the gym, picked up groceries, took the kids to the pool in the afternoon, then we all went out to dinner to celebrate the youngest's birthday. She got some great presents and had a fabulous day.
The rest of the week is kind of a blur. I started writing the next Daydreamer book! Yay! I have it plotted out to the beginning of the second act and I'm slowly feeling my way to that point. After that, I hope to just be writing writing writing. Every single day this past week, Monday through Friday, I exercised or walked. I did a lot of walking on the treadmill and dictating, which has been great to get back to. On Wednesday, I left the house for a while to let the cabinet refurnisher fix all the nicks and scratches on the cabinets in the kitchen from when they were installed. Thursday and Friday were both filled with errands, walking and writing.
Yesterday, we had my youngest's birthday party at our town pool. I'm always really nervous to throw parties. I obsess over the details and get anxious if things don't go as planned. I was a mess planning my own wedding! That was 12 years ago and I still remember the anxiety attacks I had and how sick I was the night before. I'd much rather have other people do that for me. Now I know, Lol. Even a little birthday party for 6 year olds is hard for me!
What else happened this week?
I've been watching the bears on the Explore.org YouTube streaming channel. This webcam is in Katmai National Park in Alaska. It's pointed at the falls and you can watch the bears fish for salmon that's swimming upstream. It's really quite fascinating! And Alaska has so much daylight this time of year that you can watch all day and into the night.
I picked up a few books at the town library's annual pool sale last weekend. I didn't have that Marian Keyes book!
I worked my last CSA shift this week and there were SO MANY VEGGIES to take home!
I really enjoyed my vegan burger I had while out on Wednesday. Delicious!
And here's yesterday's birthday cake for my daughter. She loves The Muppets!
I realized yesterday that I meant to post a Book Chat to the blog last week but it didn't happen, so I'll do that this week. I'm heading into the lighter part of the month for blog content, which is good because I plan to be writing, so I'll only be around a few days per week through the beginning of August. I do plan to repost my guest posts from THE DAYDREAMER DETECTIVE BRAVES THE WINTER blog tour, as well.
Have a great week everyone!
Glad to hear you got a lot of writing done. I am already looking forward to the third daydreamer detective book :).
I like planning, but also probably would obsess over the details, so I can imagine planning things like parties is stressful. I hope she had a great party!
Oh that stream of bears looks fascinating, with how you can see them fish. And that vegan burger sure looks delicious! And your daughter her birthday day cake looks great! Have a great week with hopefully lots of writing!
The bears are super fascinating! I highly recommend the live stream AND some of the other videos there where the park rangers talk about the bears and why they do what they do. I’m so glad that week is over! I have one more party to throw for my in-laws to come over for D’s birthday but that will be much easier.
