Sunday Update – April 3, 2016

April is here!! And boy is it spring already around here. Trees and flowers are blooming. Thunderstorms are rolling in and out. And the world is erupting in pretty colors. I love spring. Not as much as summer, but I still love it.

I had a pretty busy week. Monday I spent preparing for THE DAYDREAMER DETECTIVE‘s release, after going to the gym in the morning. On Tuesday, I got email from Amazon releasing all of my books from KDP Select!! Yay! I hadn't expected them to do this, and I was floored to get that email. It had been three weeks since I had asked to be released, so I was doubtful it would happen, but it did! I spent all of Tuesday and Wednesday getting my books back up on iBooks, Kobo, and Nook. I'm still considering Google Play since I have an account there. Maybe in a few weeks I'll try it out. I hear other authors do well there, so it may be worth a shot. I will not be returning to All Romance eBooks. They're a great company but my books do poorly there because they just aren't hot enough for their readers.

Then on Thursday, THE DAYDREAMER DETECTIVE went live! Yay! Another book published! And it already has 12 flattering reviews on Amazon. Tomorrow starts the blog tour for the book and I hope to pick up some new readers during this week-long celebration of this book. If you've been thinking about getting it, pick it up now. I've decided to raise the price to $3.99 on April 15th.

On Friday, my kids had a half day at school and my youngest had an assembly I had to attend in the morning. It was really cute. All the kids sang about what they want to be when they grow up and wore costumes to represent it. No one said they want to be an author. Lol. I guess that comes later…

Kitchen renovation continues! The workers were here everyday, framing, setting up plumbing and electrical, fixing a few things, etc. Insulation is happening all this coming. Good times. We actually have to be out of the house for insulation, and we timed a trip to South Carolina at the same time since it's Spring Break too! Crazy week ahead of me. :)

What else happened this week?

I made this pretty origami bookmark yesterday. I love it! I think I'll make it for all my giveaways! #365days #dailyphoto #ig2016 #origami #bookstagram

I made some fun bookmarks and plan to give them away with paperbacks, every time I give away a paperback. ;)

Cooking dinner in the basement kitchen while my youngest "does the dishes." This basement kitchen is not so bad.

We've managed to cook dinner in the basement a lot this week so I feel good about not spending too much money on takeout.

It's a book birthday cookie party! Happy release day for THE DAYDREAMER DETECTIVE! This will be followed by sushi. #booknerd #booknerd #booklover #bookstagram #ig2016 #dailyphoto #365days #cozymystery #cozymysteries #japan

We had release day cookies instead of cupcakes, which was a better choice! Everyone loved the cookies and no one was picky over the frosting or what kind of cake was underneath. I think I'll do this again next time.

Barbie For President! Love this. #forestaveartshow

We attended the school art show on Thursday night and had a blast. This was on the wall there done by the art teacher. Made me laugh and smile.

Okay that's it! I plan to update my blog a few times this week with events from THE DAYDREAMER DETECTIVE's blog tour! See you then!

  1. I love spring, it’s so awesome to see all the green and colours pop up everywhere. I like it more than summer as in the summer it’s too warm for me. The weather has been great too.

And that’s great amazon released all of your books from KU. I already reviewed most of them on Kobo, will have to stop by B&N and post my reviews there soon.

And I am so excited for the blog tour to start next week! I hope you’ll pick up some new readers :).

God luck with all the kitchen renovation, must be weird to see your house so bare. Those corner bookmarks look awesome and I am sure they make for a great addition to giveaways! Your release day cookies look yummy! I hope you’ll have a great week.

    1. I’m glad I’m back on all vendors and I had the chance to see how KU would work. I don’t have to go back now that I know! I may try it again for a new series but it’s not guaranteed. I will have to wait and see what they do with it and if Amazon fixes KU.

The kitchen is coming along and will continue to be worked on while we’re on vacation this week. I can’t wait to have some time off from construction and every day life. But I’m looking forward to reading and promoting the blog tour while I’m gone. That’ll be nice!

  2. Yay for your release!! I read Daydreamer Detective while I was on vacation, so I’m going to get my review up this week. Really enjoyed it! That Barbie for president photo is just too cute! Love it!!

    1. The Barbie photo was seriously great and made me laugh. :)

Thanks for reading Daydreamer! I’m so glad you enjoyed it. I know it was a little different from my usual stuff and maybe the mystery wasn’t super strong, but I enjoyed telling the story. :) Glad you had fun on your vacation too! We leave tomorrow for ours and I so need the time away.

  3. Wow, you have a lot of things going on there. With book releases and renovations. Hope it all goes good! :)
