Sunday Update – September 6, 2015

I need to get back on my blogging game. I have a whole list of things I want to blog about in Evernote and just haven't gotten around to it but I do have summer to blame. I only had a few hours each day to get all my work done and last week my kids were home for three days before they finally went back to school. Now that I have most of my days free, I can get back into my routine. My goal is to blog at least twice per week besides Sunday Updates.

This past week, my kids went back to school. My oldest is in 3rd grade and my youngest is in kindergarten now. This means I have from 8:30 to 2:30 free every day. That's 6 whole hours! I've decided that I will prioritize writing and writing-related chores and exercising in that time span each day. I can also grocery shop in less than an hour so I can fit that in too. But if I have house cleaning to do, it can wait till after the kids are home. Six hours per day is a respectable work day! I can get a lot done in that time and even eat or take a nap if I need to. Score!

Speaking of work, I've started working on REVEALED. I'm reading through all the chapters I previously published as short stories and when I get to the parts I never published I'll start making notes on new scenes to write. I have both REVEALED and REMOVED loaded onto my iPad and I flip back and forth between them to see what I've written and what I can fill in. It's a lot of fun! And I really miss these characters. It reminds me that I want to write a Mark Sakai prequel (I already have a title for it!) and I want to write about Sanaa and Jiro's kids.

What else happened this week…

Lunch at the pool! Last weekday it's open. #365days #ig2015 #dailyphoto #summer

Tried to enjoy the pool the last few days it was open.

First day of school complete AND I got my #jamberry catalog in the mail! All the pretties! #365days #ig2015 #dailyphoto

Got the new Jamberry catalog in the mail! It inspired me to write about my top 10 picks for next year!

Dinner. #365days #ig2015 #dailyphoto

I got whole red snapper at Whole Foods and we had an awesome dinner last night.

That's about it! Tomorrow is a holiday here and today we're going to enjoy the pool. This is the last weekend it's open for the season. :(

  1. I hope you can get back into your routine this week. I know the feeling of having ideas for posts but no time to write them. I saw someone who got Removed this week and mentioned it in their book haul post, it reminded me of how much I like and miss those characters. I am looking forward to revealed and am glad you’re planning to write more in that world!
That picture of the snapper freaks me out though, I can’t stand seeing fish or meat that actually still looks like the animal.

    1. I hope I can get back into the routine too. I really need it. But this is a short week (starting today on Tuesday) and next week will be the same because the kids have off on Monday for Rosh Hashanah. Still, working and blogging must go on!

After being vegetarian for over 10 years, when we decided to start eating fish again, I was more determined than ever to really look at the animals I was eating. So many people detach themselves from their food and don’t acknowledge the animals that gave their life for them to eat (meat in packages at the store really distances people from the source). So now I cook more whole fish than I used to and someday soon I’m going to try and clean a fish too, which I’ve never done. This fish looked at me the whole meal. Lol.
