Thank goodness this Sunday is bright and sunny! We had a week of cool temperatures and rain here. In fact, it was so cool, I actually had to turn the heat back on! I woke up one day and it was 64ºF in the house. Brrr. I just couldn't live with that.
I had a busy and tiring week. My husband was in London all week so I took the time to work hard on SUMMER HAIKUS edits (this is my next contemporary romance). I worked every day until 11pm and then got up at 6:15. I was exhausted by the weekend, but I made A LOT of progress and I'm on schedule to publish this one in August. Today I'll be working on more edits and I'll also be attending the orientation meeting for the CSA (Community Supported Agriculture) share my family bought into for the summer. I'm looking forward to getting our first share this Tuesday!
What else happened this week?
Lots of edits in bed. I worked every single night.
I had a few tough days without my husband. Drinking was necessary.
But I did head out for a little midweek treat of Italian ice with my youngest…
And then gave myself a new Jamberry manicure as a treat for doing so well with my edits.
I'm not sure what I'll be posting about this week on the blog. I did enjoy writing about my Dreams last week so maybe I'll think of something similar. But I will probably be very quiet as I'm trying to hit a deadline :) Oh! And I'm going to UtopYA in two weeks! That's something I'm really excited about. See you soon!
1. At first, I thought that Italian Ice was a tennis ball! LOL
2. You worked so hard this week! I’m inspired. :)
Ha! Someone else said the same thing on Instagram :) And thanks. I really want to hit this deadline, so I’m pushing through pretty hard.
We had the opposite weather here, it was warm and one really warm day followed by some rain.
You worked really hard on edits this week! Gah I can’t wait to read this book, I am so excited for it :). I know I say that every week, but all these updates make me impatient to finally read it. And I know it’s going to be a good book!
That italian ice looks yummy! Which flavour is it? It’s such a pretty colour!
I like those jamberry nails, it’s a nice pattern. And I loved your dreams posts, It’s such an interesting topic!
Thanks, Lola! I’m so glad you’re excited to read this book :) Makes me want to work even harder on it.
For the Italian Ice, I got lemon and lime, so that top one is lime. I loved it! It was so good. My belly doesn’t like dairy so I can’t get the ice cream. The ice was a nice alternative.
I’m really enjoying all of my Jamberry nails! They are super easy and fun. A great way to be creative.
LOVE the nails! I’m jealous (and so is my daughter) – I have no talent for that sort of thing. Good job on all that editing! Now your editor doesn’t have to bug you with random, “How’s it going?” posts. :-)

No need to be jealous! Jamberry nails are easy. They’re wraps that go on with a little heat and pressure. These took me 20 minutes and they don’t chip and last 10 days to 2 weeks. Then I just take them off and put on new ones :) My nails can’t handle lacquer and nail polish remover so these are a great, easy, and non-toxic solution. I have two friends that are Jamberry reps so I plan on holding a FB party in the fall for them. You should join in! Jamberry is my favorite thing in 2015 so far :) http://www.jamberrynails.net
I am crushing the SH edits. I am two chapters from where I have to lop off and rewrite. I actually hope to have it done by Sunday! We’ll see if I can stay on schedule.
Those are AWESOME! And they don’t damage your nails? I will definitely order some from your FB party – maybe even sooner, if you want to give me your friend’s info.
I just friended you on FB! Yes they don’t damage nails as long as you remove them gently. I love them!
