Sunday Update – May 24, 2015

It's a holiday weekend here in the States, so we're relaxing today and tomorrow. It was one crazy week around here! My oldest was home on Monday, finally recovered from a virus and fever that had her out of school for an entire week. The sinus infection I felt coming on never materialized thankfully. I'm still blowing my nose at least every hour of every day, but no pain or fever. I feel lucky I managed to escape it this time around.

We were supposed to go to my brother's house for the holiday tomorrow, but last night my youngest went to bed early without eating anything for dinner. She was exhausted and falling asleep on the couch. This morning she woke up with a fever. Sigh. Whatever this virus is, it is sticking around.

The groundhog family that lives on our property, after four years of us living in peace and not bothering each other, decided to decimate our garden completely (we know it was them because we actually caught them doing it) so now we have to evict them. Sigh. MOTHER NATURE!!!

In book news, RECLAIMED is out this coming Thursday and I am more than ready to celebrate and get the book into all the hands of the people that pre-ordered. The paperback is available now if you want it, by the way. I thought about doing a Facebook party but Thursday got busy with family things too, so no party. I'm not sure how effective or fun they are now that everyone is doing them, anyway.

I'm almost done with my next Kami No Sekai short story. This one took a while to pin down and figure out, but yesterday my fingers were on fire and I wrote over 2000 words. Now I know exactly how I want to end it, and I hope to finish it today.

My next contemporary romance has been read by two people and is with two others including my newly hired editor. I'm nervous. I hope it gets some good feedback.

What else happened this week?

We had crabs for dinner. I almost lost a jam in the process. #jamberrynails #ig2015 #dailyphoto #365days

We had a seafood extravaganza last Sunday night. Crabs. They were so good.

At the park #dailyphoto #ig2015 #365days

Everything is in bloom around here and gorgeous. I really love spring!

Working on postcards for UtopYA. #dailyphoto #ig2015 #365days #bookstagram

I got my postcards into 750 swag packs for UtopYA in June! So, I had to design and get postcards printed :) Lol. I got that done in a day. I'm glad I have those skills.

It's that time of year again! #spring #goslings #dailyphoto #ig2015 #365days

And my walks around the park are even cuter than usual now that all the goslings are out and about. They're so fuzzy!! Adorable.

Aw! So small and fuzzy. #spring #goslings

Have a great week everyone!

  1. That’s good news you managed to avoid the sinus infection, although that’s unfortunate your other daughter is sick now. I had to google groundhogs as I hand’t heard of them before, they look adorable, that’s sad you have to evict them. I have attended some fun facebook parties, but I am not sure how effective they are.
I am really excited for your next Kami no Sekai story, when will that one be released? And ofcourse looking forward to your contemporary romance, I enjoy hearing updates about that book and can’t wait to read it!
Those goslings are so cute! Must be fun walking around the park and seeing those cuties. I also like spring and seeing everything in bloom. I love seeing everything look so green and colourful. Have a great week and enjoy your long weekend!

    1. I’m debating when I will release this next short story. I think it’s all going to depend on the feedback I get on the contemporary romance. If the feedback I get is minimal, then I can plan for a late July release. Then I’ll publish this short story in August. If the feedback I get is extensive and I can’t make the changes in time, (sigh) I might push it off to next summer. In that case, I’ll work on publishing more short stories and getting Revealed published in early fall instead of late. I have plans and backup plans! :)

The goslings are super cute and fuzzy but geese are pretty mean so I stay back and admire them from afar. I always worry about the people I see feeding geese in the park. The birds are not so cute when they’re attacking you because you’re too close to their young! Lol. I stay away for my health.

We’re doing our best to have a good weekend. Lil D is a real trooper when she’s sick, still happy and smiling despite the high fever. She’s easy to deal with.

  2. Awww … you totally got me with the goslings. :-)

Sorry you guys are all sick over there. That is no fun at all – I know what it’s like when a virus just makes its rounds in the household. Ugh!
