I'm lying on the couch with an impending sinus infection, which is exactly how I thought this week would end. It was the week of sickness in this house. My oldest child started off sick last Sunday and is still not well. She is battling high fevers everyday, but it appears to be a virus so there's not much that can be done except wait it out. I'll have to take her back to the doctor tomorrow, though, I'm sure because high fevers shouldn't last this long.
She was home most of last week so I didn't get as much done as I usually like to. I busted my butt to give one final read through of RECLAIMED and finished yesterday morning. 350 changes! I caught a lot this time and it took me a few hours to input them all, compile all the final files, and upload them to the vendors. Amazon was sending me warning emails to get the final up to them (my deadline is tomorrow) so I didn't want to screw it up. Anyway, I'm glad that's done and the paperback is ready too. I'll probably make that for sale this coming Wednesday.
I started feeling ill on Friday. Just blah and not right. Now the left half of my face is unhappy, my lungs and throat hurt, and I just want to go back to sleep. What I really wanted to do today was check out the craft fair in the park and work on my next short story. I think I'm just going to lay on the couch instead.
What else did we do this week before it all went down hill?
I got my new walking treadmill desk up and running. I worked at it three times this past week and it was great to be moving while typing and working. Much better on my hips.
Gave myself a new Jamberry manicure. I've become a huge Jamberry fan! I love all the different styles, how easy they are to put on and take off, and they leave my nails undamaged.
And then, the big day. I received my proof of RECLAIMED in paperback. I can't believe I've finally finished this series! I remember pitching the entire series to my ex-agent and publishers and wondering how the ending would come. RECLAIMED is not how I pitched it 4 years ago (there were a lot of different things I thought would happen, but in the end, those ideas made no sense, Lol), but it is the story I wanted to tell. I'm looking forward to sharing it with you all.
Not sure what'll be on the blog this week besides Teaser Tuesday, since I'm under the weather. I'll be back soon!
