Book Chat #3 – Susan Kaye Quinn and John Scalzi

The author/reviewer world is blowing up right now :( But Book Chat is where I keep things positive and happy.

Right now, I'm reading SECOND DAUGHTER by Susan Kaye Quinn on my Kindle. I pick it up and read in small amounts here and there, and each time I'm back in the Dharian Affairs world, I'm happy to be there.

On my iPad, I have a beta read I just got going yesterday.

Then, on my iPhone, I'm listening to LOCK IN by John Scalzi (narrated by Wil Wheaton) via the Audible app. I just started LOCK IN this past weekend and can't get it out of my head. I love the premise. I love the story. And I especially love the small bits of humor, delivered in Wil Wheaton's dry sarcastic voice. I laughed out loud several times in the car on the way home from Rhinebeck this weekend. I'm really looking forward to some knitting time tonight and LOCK IN, as soon as my kid's Brownies meeting is over :)

  1. I haven’t gotten around to Second Daughter yet, but I am currently reading Specter (Debt Collector #11) by Susan Kaye Quinn. The first 3 episodes are free, if you are interested. I really like this series, although it’s a bit more dark then her other series. The episode format makes for an unique reading experience.
Glad you stay positive here, there’s already enough drama out there.

    1. I cannot wait to start the Debt Collector series! I got those first few she offers for free and they are in the queue. Really, I need to clone myself so I can read and write more :) And I definitely want to experience the serial format. I’ve been curious to see how it’s done so perhaps I can try it too. I’m sure I could learn some good lessons by reading Susan’s series!
